In the last few weeks I've realized something. I'm a total granola (or at least I want to be). I've decided to stop keeping it on the DL and embrace it. So here it is, all my craziness for you to see.
I love cloth diapers and wipes, making my own cleaners, cooking from scratch, canning, natural birth, babywearing (when he'll let me), co-sleeping, recycling, hanging laundry on the clothesline, and gardening. These things either make my life easier, bring me a sense of accomplishment and joy, or that good feeling from doing something good for the earth. In 2014 my goal is to start composting and get down to only one bag of garbage a week. Eek!
But there's a whole lot more to me and the things you will read on this blog than just being a hippie.
I am a writer. I have several publishing credits/acceptances to my name. Including one to Highlight's magazine. I am currently revising my very first novel ever and hope to begin shopping it out by the end of 2014. I'm not very good, but I love the brain workout it gives me and the characters I meet/create, and the people it's connected me too.
I am a homeschooler. For now. I love it, though we've slowed it down a little since the baby was born. And by a little I mean we only do it for 45 minutes a day instead of 1.5 hours. I hope to start up full fledged again in January.
I believe kids need lives that consist of lots of free time, the great outdoors, music, cuddles, reading, routine, healthy foods, and a mom who feels good about herself. You'll find all that and more here, as well as my thoughts on writing, homeschool plans/ideas, granola stuff and little journal entries along the way.
